QSS - Quick Sql Scripts

Stop writing hundreds and hundres of lines of SQL for your database!

Imagine, instead of writing things like this:

create table if not exists api.game_settings (
    game_settingsid bigint       not null auto_increment,
    gameid          bigint       not null,
    game_channelid  bigint,
    name            varchar(64)  not null,
    json            longtext     not null default '{}',
    valid           tinyint      not null default 1,

you could simply write something like this:

qss mysql game_settings sp:* cat:api fk:game fk:game_channel,bigint,n c:name,varchar(64),nn c:json,longtext,nn,'{}'

This is way more than just a "short writing" for sql. A command like this will create a full fletched sql script with several hundred lines of code, containing:

• The CREATE TABLE code
• Primary Key definition
• Foreign Keys
• Indices
• Triggers (manipulation save timestamp and modifier recording)
• Stored Procedures for all CRUD operations
• Joined select queries for lookup tables
• A Catalog-Save directly executable script on your database
• EXIST checks for objects

And this is just one small example of what qss can do for you.

Who QSS is for

Experienced developers who know that a database is much more than a "thing to drop some data in". Developers who care about performance, indices, memory optimization, data integrity and security. In short: For professionals.

If you want a robust, error free data model, a scaling system which not explode when you add more than a few millions of data rows, then QSS is for you.

Licensing

qss.exe is meant to be licensed in a "fair use" manner. It does not cross-check against a licensing server and runs silently local on your machine, but this does not mean, it is "free to copy". You trust the scripts qss generates and in return I trust you that you purchase as many licenses as workstations you are going to use it on.

Be fair, it has been a lot of effort running into creating this tool.

Make sure you read through database theory, correct data modelling and why all those "frameworks that generate your database" are not the best choice you can make. Find all this in the public QSS wiki.
